Overview
The Middle Regions are a region of space extending between roughly 400
light years to 1,000 light years from Earth. This region lies
outside the Inner Sphere but before the
Outer Beyond. There is no true
border between the Inner Sphere and the
Middle Regions, though typically if a inhabited world can be reached by
a Short-Distance Jump it's considered in the
Inner Sphere, if a Long-Distance Jump is
needed, it's considered in the Middle Regions. Because of the time
difference needed to travel and communicate through the Middle Regions,
inhabited worlds are much further spread out, and less is generally
known about these worlds.
