Polyxo

Polyxo (polly-zo) is a planetary system orbiting a yellow/orange k-class star.  The system lies in the Taurus Constellation of the Hyades Region.

The Polyxo System's primary planet  is home to numerous large open air germanium mines, which the planet's economy is based entirely around.  Conditions inside the mines have often been erratic, this has created an environment where violent worker revolts are a common occurrence.

The planet's capital city Strykersville was built to house the workers of the planet's largest mine.  The city consists of enclosed skyscraper arcologies built on the surrounding hills around the mine, they tower above the massive hole in the planet's surface

Polyxo Planets

Polyxo B
Jane Eden B is a cloudy, hot super earth, a cross between a terrestrial world and a gas giant.  The planet has a thick atmosphere of carbon dioxide, sulfur, with traces of hydrogen and helium that is slowly escaping into space.

Distance: 0.29 AU

Orbit: 63 days

Temp: 364 K

Mass: 0.46 Earth

Radius: 5008 km

Gravity: 0.74 g

Rotation: 88 hours

Polyxo C
Polyxo C is a partially habitable terrestrial world smaller than Earth.  The planet's atmosphere is composed of nitrogen and oxygen, with trace amounts of methane.  Even though oxygen levels are significantly lower than on Earth, acclimated humans can survive a few hours on the surface without a breathing apparatus.  Underneath the planet's rocky surface large deposits of germanium exist, this helped create numerous profitable mining operations.

Distance: 0.47 AU

Orbit: 133 days

Temp: 304 K

Mass: 0.43 Earth

Radius: 4788 km

Gravity: 0.77 g

Rotation: 42 hours

Polyxo D
Polyxo D is a small hydrogen/helium gas giant less massive than Jupiter.  Although the planet orbits at a similar distance as Jupiter, it is much colder due smaller, dimmer parent star.

Distance: 5.66 AU

Orbit: 15.1 years

Temp: 75 K

Mass: 0.19 Jupiter

Radius: 79,531 km

Gravity: 1.45 g

Rotation: 15 hours
