Reichling

 

Reichling is a planetary system orbiting a yellow G-class star.  The system lies in the Columba Constellation of the Canopus Region.

 
During much of it's early history, Reichling's primary planet was viewed as a quiet, backwater world.  A primitive agricultural world with a small population.  That changed when extensive surveys of the planet were conducted, they revealed deep veins of prfitable minerals existed below the surface.

 

Off-World companies, looking to profit off of the minerals, invested large amounts of resources in the developing the planet's primitive infrastructure.  The planet enjoyed rapid growth in both population and wealth as large sums were pumped into its economy.

 

As the natural resources started to dwindle, many of the companies that were fueling the planet's growth moved on to other worlds.  The has left the planet's ecomony in a deep recession, which it has struggled to pull out of.

IReichling B is a terrestrial world with a common, carbon dioxide, runaway greenhouse atmosphere.  The thick atmosphere magnifies the temperature, nearly doubling it from the around 400 K at the cloud tops to 800 K at the surface.

Reichling C is a habitable terrestrial world which is warmer than earth.  Very hot, humid, and swampy with a thick atmosphere, some acclimatization is needed for unacclimated humans.  Extensive damage to the planet's ecosystem has occurred due to over-mining.
