Summary:

Those traveling from the Izar region to the Polaris region, not using the wormhole, will pass through the Semus system before entering the center of Polaris.  Semus is a five planet system with its primary world the second planet from the sun, a dry desert world with a large ocean.  The system lies in a strategic military area, making it one of the rare worlds where the United Worlds keeps a permanent military force.  Clashes between the United Worlds and the locals have occurred numerous times in the past, as they view the UW as an imperial force.

Semus B

Warm Venus-like world with a thick carbon dioxide and sulfur atmosphere.  The planet is covered in creamy white clouds, underneath them is a burning hot surface heated by the greenhouse gasses.

Semus C

A large dry world with a southern ocean.  Tensions on Semus C have been high for many years because of the Military presence that the United Worlds keeps on the planet.  The system sits in an important area with connections to three regions (Polaris, Izar, and Hercules), thus the reason there is a permanent military force.  The residents of Semus view the UW presence as imperialism, and have violently fought against them multiple times.

Semus D

A mysteriously dry world sitting outside the habitable zone.  The planet contains very little ice even deep below the surface, leaving a mystery to why there isn't any water here.  One theory is that the planet was destroyed long after the system formed, leaving an asteroid belt that formed back into the current planet.

Semus E

Large Saturn sized gas giant with multiple cloud layers.  The planet's ice and frozen chlorine atmosphere glows green in the sunlight.  High winds blow the upper clouds layer quickly allowing the darker lower layers to appear.

Semus F

The system’s last planet is a cold ice giant, that are common throughout the galaxy, similar to Uranus
